Wedding of Sonia and Brett [melbourne wedding photography]

If rain on a wedding day is supposed to herald good luck, then Sonia and Brett are the luckiest couple I have ever met. Because…it really really rained on their wedding day.

With a ceremony planned for a grass amphitheater, sheltered only by an elegant arbour of flowers, Sonia was a perfectly composed, calm bride as the day progressed and the rain showed no signs of letting up. But as always, love conquers all, even the Melbourne weather, with Sonia even (romantically) eschewing the use of her umbrella to walk down the garden ‘aisle’ toward long time love Brett, where they were married in a beautiful intimate ceremony under a marquis instead.

After about 12 hours of heavy rain, the deluge let up enough for us to enjoy the beautiful gardens of Cloudehill for some photos, before the couple headed off to local Olinda foodie destination The Wild Oak Restaurant for a gorgeous high tea reception. The only real trouble the rain caused was to Sonia’s divine Christian Louboutin shoes, which were looking quite well loved after their walk through the soggy, but spectacular, gardens of this amazing location.

To Sonia and Brett, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness, and hope that your honeymoon was relaxing, filled with love, and, I have to say it, sunny and dry.

Special shout out goes to videographers Pete and Emily of Living Lens, with whom it was a pleasure to work.

Xxx Sarah and Kim

Beautiful, beautiful! I love the couple’s style, and I love your style, and together they just came together so perfectly! Your portraits have this serene, old world look to them that’s just stunning. And good for the both of you for making sure her Louboutin red soles showed up in the garden shots!
